Udinese move ahead of Braga in race for Stuttgart striker Jovan Milošević

Udinese have made a late move for Jovan Milošević and are attempting to take the Stuttgart striker to Serie A despite Sporting Braga having been close to completing an €8 million deal.

Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Udinese accelerated talks on Tuesday in an effort to overtake the Portuguese club, turning what had appeared to be a relatively advanced Braga transfer into a live contest for the 21-year-old Serbia international.

Braga had moved into a strong position over the previous 24 hours. Sky Germany reported that Stuttgart were in final negotiations over a deal worth around €8 million, with Milošević in line for a contract running until 2031. Crucially, however, Sky also noted that a complete agreement had not yet been reached and that Udinese remained involved.

The situation has since shifted further. Reports in Germany citing Matteo Moretto indicate that Udinese have now moved ahead of Braga and that Milošević is expected in Italy, with Stuttgart still set to receive a fee in the region of €8 million. Neither Stuttgart nor Udinese have announced an agreement, so the transfer should not yet be treated as complete.

For Udinese, the move represents an attempt to add a young centre-forward with both Bundesliga experience and a strong recent scoring record. Milošević spent the second half of last season on loan at Werder Bremen after previously producing 19 goals and five assists during a spell with Partizan Belgrade.

Stuttgart have retained control over his future after extending his contract until June 2029 before sending him to Bremen in January. That longer agreement gave the Bundesliga club the flexibility to consider a permanent sale this summer rather than accept another temporary move.

Milošević has struggled to establish a permanent role in Stuttgart since arriving from Vojvodina in 2023, with loan spells becoming the main route for his development. His progress away from the club has nevertheless increased his market value and created interest from several European leagues.

Braga appeared ready to provide the next step, but Udinese’s intervention has changed the picture at a decisive stage of negotiations. The Italian club are now pushing to convert their late approach into an agreement before the Serbian forward completes the move that had been taking shape in Portugal.

Until documents are signed and one of the clubs confirms the transfer, the safest assessment is that Udinese have moved strongly into the lead rather than that Milošević is already their player.
