RB Leipzig agree Suleman Sani sale to Al-Qadsiah

RB Leipzig have reached an agreement to sell Suleman Sani to Al-Qadsiah, putting the Nigerian winger on course to leave Germany without making a competitive appearance for the club.

The transfer has not yet been officially announced, and the final approval of the player is still required. Sky Germany reports that Leipzig have agreed a package worth around €8m with the Saudi Pro League club, including realistic bonuses, after initial talks accelerated before the deadline.

That leaves the move close but not complete. Leipzig have accepted the structure at club level, but Sani still needs to give the final green light before the deal can proceed to formal completion.

The story is striking because of how quickly Leipzig’s plan for Sani has changed. The 19-year-old only joined from AS Trenčín in January, signing a long-term contract until 2031 after arriving as a development signing for the future. Leipzig presented him at the time as a highly talented winger with pace, directness and strong potential.

Six months later, he could leave without playing a single minute for the first team. That does not make the deal a sporting success, but it may become a financial one. Leipzig reportedly paid a little over €5m to sign Sani, meaning an €8m package would allow the club to make a profit on a player who never broke into the senior side.

For Al-Qadsiah, the move would be a bet on upside rather than a finished product. Sani has senior experience from Slovakia, Nigerian youth international pedigree and a profile built around speed and one-v-one threat, but he remains at the early stage of his career.

For Leipzig, the sale would fit a wider late-window reshuffle. The club are adjusting their attacking group while adding other young forwards, and Sani’s exit would free a squad place while turning a development asset into immediate value.

Until Sani gives his approval and both clubs confirm the transfer, the move should remain classified as reported and pending. The agreement is in place, but the deal is not yet official.
