PSG sign Ferran Torres from Barcelona on deal until 2031

Paris Saint-Germain have completed the signing of Ferran Torres from Barcelona, with the Spain international joining the French champions on a contract running until 2031.

The move brings an end to Torres’ four-and-a-half-year spell at Barcelona and gives PSG another experienced attacking option as Luis Enrique continues to shape his squad for the new season.

Torres leaves Barcelona after one of his most productive campaigns at the club. The 26-year-old scored 21 goals and provided three assists in 49 appearances across all competitions last season, playing an important role as Barcelona secured another La Liga title.

His ability to operate across the front line became increasingly valuable during that period. Torres can play from either wing or through the middle, allowing him to adjust between a wider attacking role and a more central position depending on the structure of the team.

That versatility should also make his transition into Luis Enrique’s system relatively straightforward.

The two have already worked together at international level with Spain, meaning Torres arrives in Paris with an understanding of the coach’s expectations in possession, pressing situations and positional rotations across the attacking line.

Luis Enrique has described Torres as a player capable of operating in every position across the front three, a quality that could give PSG greater flexibility when rotating their attacking options over the course of the season.

Torres also arrives after a significant summer with Spain.

He played an important role during the 2026 World Cup and scored the decisive goal in the final against Argentina, further strengthening his international profile before completing his move to Paris.

The financial terms of the transfer have not been officially disclosed by either club. AS reports that the agreement is worth around €50 million.

For Barcelona, the departure removes an experienced forward from the squad but also represents a significant sale at a time when the club continues to manage both sporting and financial priorities in the transfer market.

For PSG, the deal provides a player who arrives in his prime rather than one requiring a long development period. Torres brings experience from La Liga, the Premier League, European competition and international football, as well as familiarity with the coach who will now be responsible for integrating him into a new attacking structure.

The challenge for Torres will be turning that familiarity into a consistent role in a PSG squad with significant competition for places.
