Osasuna confirm injuries to Aimar Oroz and Jorge Herrando after Getafe win
Osasuna have confirmed injuries to Aimar Oroz and Jorge Herrando following their 1-0 victory over Getafe. Herrando suffered a left-adductor problem and Oroz injured the biceps femoris in his left thigh, with both players due to undergo further medical examinations before recovery timelines are established.

Osasuna’s unbeaten start to the LaLiga season has been complicated by injuries to Jorge Herrando and Aimar Oroz, with both players awaiting further medical examinations after Monday’s 1-0 victory over Getafe.
The club have confirmed that Herrando suffered an injury to the adductor of his left leg at El Sadar, while Oroz sustained an injury to the biceps femoris in his left thigh.
Both players will undergo tests at the Clínica Universidad de Navarra this week to establish the extent of the damage.
Osasuna have not provided a recovery timetable for either player.
Herrando’s problem caused the more immediate disruption during the match.
The centre-back was forced off after 39 minutes and replaced by Enzo Boyomo, leaving Luis Miguel Ramis to reorganise his defensive line before Ante Budimir’s penalty eventually gave Osasuna the lead in first-half stoppage time.
Ramis indicated after the game that Herrando’s injury initially appeared to be the more significant of the two, while stressing that the club must wait for the medical examinations before drawing conclusions.
That caution is important.
An adductor injury can vary considerably in severity, and there is currently no official basis for projecting how many matches Herrando could miss.
His potential absence would nevertheless create an immediate selection issue.
The 25-year-old has started each of Osasuna’s opening three league matches and has become an established part of Ramis’ defensive structure.
Boyomo demonstrated against Getafe that he can step directly into the back line, but losing Herrando would reduce the coach’s options at a moment when Osasuna have built their strong start around defensive stability.
Only one goal has been conceded across the opening three rounds.
Oroz’s situation carries a different kind of importance.
The midfielder remained influential against Getafe before leaving after 71 minutes, twice carrying possession into dangerous areas during the opening stages and later producing the pass that helped create one of Osasuna’s best second-half opportunities.
His role is difficult to replicate directly.
Oroz gives Ramis a player capable of connecting midfield possession with the attacking line, receiving under pressure and advancing the ball through carries rather than relying exclusively on direct play.
That technical profile has been particularly useful inside an Osasuna side otherwise comfortable competing through duels, second balls and physical intensity.
Losing both Oroz and Herrando simultaneously would therefore affect different areas of the team.
Herrando provides continuity in the defensive line.
Oroz supplies creativity and progression higher up the pitch.
The injuries also arrived at the end of a demanding seven-day period in which Osasuna played three LaLiga matches.
Ramis’ side have emerged from that sequence with seven points from nine after drawing with Levante, beating Celta Vigo and then defeating Getafe.
The results have established an encouraging early platform.
The medical consequences of the Getafe victory now represent the first significant test of the squad depth behind it.
Osasuna are due to visit Alavés at Mendizorroza on Sunday, September 6.
Whether Herrando or Oroz can be considered for that match will depend on the results of this week’s examinations.
Until those arrive, the club’s position remains deliberately cautious: two confirmed muscular injuries, two players awaiting further assessment and no official return date for either.
