Nottingham Forest raise Dodô bid as Fiorentina decision looms

Nottingham Forest have increased their offer for Fiorentina right-back Dodô as they attempt to force a decision on one of their remaining priorities before the transfer window closes.

Forest have submitted a proposal worth €9million plus a further €2m in bonuses, according to Gianluca Di Marzio, after an opening €7m bid was rejected by the Serie A club earlier this week.

The improved package brings Forest significantly closer to Fiorentina’s position but has not yet produced an agreement. The Italian club have been seeking offers beginning at around €10m in guaranteed money, leaving the structure of the latest bid as one of the remaining points between the sides.

Forest are also not prepared to allow negotiations to run indefinitely. Di Marzio reports that the Premier League club are ready to move to an alternative target if Fiorentina do not respond positively within a short timeframe, adding urgency to talks with the September 1 deadline approaching.

Dodô has become an established part of Fiorentina’s right flank since arriving from Shakhtar Donetsk in 2022, making more than 160 appearances for the club across all competitions. His situation has attracted interest during the summer, while Fiorentina sporting director Fabio Paratici has previously acknowledged that the Brazilian has ambitions of his own and said the club would evaluate any situation in the interests of both parties.

The financial circumstances also give Fiorentina a decision to make. Dodô has entered the final year of his contract, reducing the amount of time available to secure a substantial transfer fee unless fresh contractual terms are agreed.

Forest’s interest is consistent with their search for another option on the right side of the defence. Sky Sports had already reported that the clubs were in talks over Dodô before the improved proposal was submitted.

The latest bid therefore represents genuine movement rather than a breakthrough. Forest have raised the financial pressure and Fiorentina must now decide whether a package potentially reaching €11m is sufficient, with the English club prepared to abandon the move if negotiations do not advance quickly.
