Millwall agree Filip Marschall deal after Lukas Jensen injury

Millwall have agreed a deal to sign Filip Marschall from Stevenage, moving quickly for a goalkeeper after Lukas Jensen’s injury created a late problem before the transfer deadline.

The move has not yet been officially announced, but The72 reports that Millwall have reached an agreement for the 23-year-old, who is set to undergo a medical before completing the switch to The Den. Football Insider has also reported that Marschall is due for medical checks after the clubs struck a deal.

The timing explains the urgency. Millwall had not been expected to make goalkeeper a major deadline-day priority, but Jensen’s quad injury has changed the situation and forced the club back into the market. Max Crocombe started against Southampton at the weekend, but Millwall have now moved to add another senior option.

Marschall arrives with momentum from a strong season in League One. Football Insider reports that he kept 19 clean sheets in 45 games for Stevenage last season, sharing the division’s Golden Glove and helping the club reach the play-offs.

That record makes the move more than emergency cover. Marschall is still young for a goalkeeper, but he already has a full senior campaign behind him and has experience of carrying responsibility as a first-choice player. For Millwall, that matters because any signing in this position may be needed immediately rather than eased in gradually.

The former Aston Villa prospect joined Stevenage last summer after several loan spells lower down the pyramid. A move to Millwall would now give him a first sustained chance at Championship level and a platform to test whether last season’s form can translate upward.

For Stevenage, the agreement would mean losing a key player late in the window, but Marschall’s performances had made interest from a higher division increasingly likely. Millwall’s injury situation has accelerated that route.

Until the medical is completed and the clubs confirm the transfer, the move should remain classified as pending. The agreement is in place, but Marschall is not yet officially a Millwall player.
