Jaissle says Newcastle transfer business is not finished as squad rebuild continues

Newcastle United head coach Matthias Jaissle has confirmed that the club’s transfer business is not finished, with further adjustments still expected before the window closes.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Jaissle said he and the club’s hierarchy are aligned on the need to continue reshaping the squad, although he stopped short of identifying specific positions or setting a target for the number of additional signings.

Newcastle have already undergone significant change this summer, with several major departures forcing the club to reassess the balance and depth of the squad ahead of the new Premier League season.

The club have responded by adding new players, including Amar Dedić, while also continuing to explore further options in the market. Talks over Manchester City midfielder Nico González have formed part of that wider process, although no agreement has yet been reached.

Jaissle’s comments provide the clearest indication yet that Newcastle intend to remain active until the final stages of the window.

The German coach also stressed that he retains confidence in the players currently available to him, suggesting the next phase of recruitment will be focused on targeted improvements rather than another wholesale overhaul.
