Bruno Fernandes in action for Manchester United amid transfer interest from Galatasaray

Manchester United have made it clear that Bruno Fernandes is not for sale this summer despite renewed interest in the club captain from Galatasaray and other European sides.

United intend to reject any approach for the 31-year-old during the closing stages of the transfer window, with senior figures at Old Trafford viewing Fernandes as a central part of their plans for the new season.

Galatasaray have been considering a move for the Portugal international and are prepared to offer him a lucrative long-term contract. Reports have suggested the Turkish champions could put together a package worth around €50 million for United, although no formal bid has been submitted.

Juventus and AC Milan have also been linked with Fernandes, but United’s position remains unchanged. The club are not looking to enter negotiations over a sale and have communicated that potential suitors would be wasting their time by making an offer.

Fernandes has not indicated that he wants to leave Manchester United. His current contract has entered its final guaranteed year, although the club retain an option to extend the agreement for a further season.

A release clause allowing clubs outside England to sign Fernandes for £57 million was included in his contract, but that clause expired earlier in the summer. United therefore retain full control over whether to consider any offer during the remainder of the window.

The club’s stance represents a clear statement of Fernandes’ importance after another influential season at Old Trafford. He remains captain and one of the key figures in the team as Manchester United prepare for the start of their 2026/27 Premier League campaign.

For now, Galatasaray’s interest has not developed into formal negotiations between the clubs, and United have no intention of allowing Fernandes to leave before the transfer deadline.
