Liverpool sign Ifeanyi Ndukwe and send defender on loan to Levante

Liverpool have completed the signing of Ifeanyi Ndukwe, with the young defender immediately joining La Liga side Levante on loan for the 2026/27 season.

The move was confirmed by Liverpool on Saturday, with Ndukwe finalising his transfer to Anfield before heading straight to Spain to continue his development with regular senior football.

The decision to send him to Levante gives the player an opportunity to gain first-team experience in one of Europe’s leading leagues while remaining part of Liverpool’s longer-term plans.

Liverpool have increasingly used the loan market to accelerate the development of younger players who are not yet expected to feature regularly in the senior squad, and Ndukwe will now spend the campaign adapting to the demands of La Liga.

Levante, meanwhile, gain a promising defensive option for the new season as they look to strengthen their squad.

Ndukwe’s move forms part of Liverpool’s wider summer recruitment strategy under Andoni Iraola, with the club continuing to reshape the squad ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.
