Juventus submit fresh Emiliano Martínez bid as Aston Villa agree Suzuki deal

Juventus have submitted a fresh offer for Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez as the Serie A club continue to push for the Argentina international.

The Times reports that Juventus have proposed a package worth £6 million up front, with a further £2.6 million in potential add-ons. talkSPORT has independently reported a similar structure, placing the overall value at around £8.5 million.

Aston Villa are not understood to have accepted the proposal. According to talkSPORT, the Premier League club want the full valuation guaranteed rather than dependent on performance-related bonuses, although negotiations are continuing and there is optimism that a compromise could still be reached.

The timing of the renewed Juventus approach is significant because Villa have also moved to strengthen their goalkeeping options. Both The Times and talkSPORT report that the club have reached an agreement to sign Zion Suzuki from Parma after the Japan international’s proposed move to Paris Saint-Germain fell through.

The two outlets differ on the precise value of the Suzuki package, so the financial terms remain unconfirmed. However, the reported agreement with Parma adds a clear layer of context to Martínez’s situation and could give Villa greater flexibility if negotiations with Juventus advance.

Interest from Turin is not new. Martínez has been linked with Juventus throughout the summer, but the latest bid represents a more concrete step than earlier expressions of interest and discussions over his future.

The 33-year-old remains under contract with Aston Villa, and neither club has announced an agreement for his transfer. Juventus therefore remain at the bidding stage rather than the final stages of a completed deal.

Any move would still require the clubs to settle the structure and value of the transfer before Martínez could proceed towards the formalities of a potential switch to Serie A.
