Inter agree deal with Tottenham for Djed Spence

Inter have reached an agreement with Tottenham Hotspur for the transfer of Djed Spence, with the England international now in Milan to complete the final stages of the move.

talkSPORT reports that the two clubs have agreed a deal worth around £30 million including add-ons, with Tottenham also retaining a sell-on clause as part of the agreement.

Spence has travelled to Italy ahead of his medical and the completion of the remaining contractual formalities. His arrival in Milan represents another significant step toward a return to Serie A, although the transfer has not yet been officially announced by either club.

The move would bring Spence back to Italian football after his previous loan spell with Genoa. That experience should give the defender some familiarity with the tactical demands of Serie A and reduce the adjustment normally required when moving between leagues.

Inter’s interest in Spence also comes at a time when the club are reshaping their options on the right side.

The 25-year-old is capable of operating as both a conventional full-back and a wing-back, giving Inter flexibility across different defensive structures. His pace and ability to carry the ball forward could also offer the team a more direct option in wide areas.

Spence arrives with increased international experience after representing England during the 2026 World Cup. His involvement at that level has further strengthened his profile following a period in which he established himself more consistently at Tottenham.

For Spurs, the reported agreement would represent a significant sale while also preserving the possibility of receiving additional value from any future transfer through the sell-on clause.

For Inter, the deal would add a player with Premier League experience, familiarity with Italian football and the athletic qualities required to contribute on both sides of the ball.

The transfer is now considered to be at an advanced stage, but Spence should not yet be treated as an Inter player until the medical, final paperwork and official announcement are completed.

Unless complications emerge during those final steps, formal confirmation is expected to be the next major development in the deal.
