Hull City are pushing to sign Jean-Mattéo Bahoya from Eintracht Frankfurt, but reports differ over whether the clubs have reached an agreement for the French attacker.
Jean-Mattéo Bahoya’s proposed move from Eintracht Frankfurt to Hull City remains unresolved after conflicting reports over how advanced the deal has become.
According to the BBC, Hull have reached an agreement with Frankfurt for the 21-year-old French attacker, with Bahoya keen on the move and given permission to travel to England for a medical. That would place the transfer close to completion, leaving only the medical and final paperwork before an official announcement.
Sky Germany has presented the situation more cautiously. The German broadcaster reported that talks are ongoing but not yet as advanced as claimed in England, with no final club-to-club agreement or formal offer in place as of Sunday morning. Financial terms have reportedly been discussed verbally, with further talks expected before a decision is made.
That difference in reporting is central to the story. Bahoya may be moving toward an exit from Frankfurt before the deadline, but the current evidence does not allow the transfer to be treated as agreed or completed. The strongest safe framing is that Hull are pushing for the player and that a medical has been reported in England, while German reporting still considers the deal open.
Bahoya joined Eintracht from Angers in January 2024 and remains under contract with the Bundesliga club. Frankfurt’s official profile lists him as a forward, while the club previously described him as a quick, direct attacking player capable of operating across the front line.
His time in Germany has produced regular first-team involvement without making him an untouchable part of Frankfurt’s attack. BuliNews reports that he has made 78 appearances for the club in all competitions, scoring seven goals and providing eight assists since his arrival from France.
For Hull, Bahoya would represent an ambitious late-window attacking addition, especially because his age and contract position make him more than a short-term squad option. For Frankfurt, the decision is whether the terms on offer justify letting a young forward leave before the deadline, particularly with other late-window movement still shaping the squad.
Until either club confirms the deal, the transfer should remain classified as developing. Hull appear to have made significant progress, but the gap between the English and German reporting means Bahoya’s move cannot yet be described as complete.
