Hull City sign Christos Mouzakitis from Olympiacos on five-year deal

Hull City have completed the permanent signing of Greece international Christos Mouzakitis from Olympiacos on a five-year contract.
The 19-year-old midfielder has signed a deal running until the summer of 2031 and becomes Hull’s 18th and final addition of an extensive summer transfer window following their return to the Premier League.
Hull have not disclosed the transfer fee. BBC Sport reports that the deal is worth around £13 million, while earlier reporting from Pete O’Rourke placed the agreement at €15 million.
Mouzakitis arrives in England despite already accumulating significant senior experience for his age. A product of the Olympiacos academy, he established himself in the first team during the 2024/25 campaign and has since made 50 league appearances for the Greek club.
His breakthrough season included appearances in European competition as Olympiacos won a domestic league and cup double, while his development also brought senior international recognition with Greece.
Mouzakitis has already represented his country 11 times and has featured in European qualifying competition this year. Primarily a central midfielder, he has operated in deeper roles while progressing rapidly from academy football into the Olympiacos senior side.
His performances had attracted wider European interest before Hull moved decisively on deadline day. Brighton had previously attempted to sign the midfielder, with Olympiacos confirming last year that they rejected a substantially larger proposal during an earlier stage of his development.
Hull’s agreement therefore represents another significant investment in young talent during a window in which the promoted club have aggressively reshaped their squad for Premier League football.
The transfer itself is complete and official. Mouzakitis has signed his five-year Hull contract after leaving Olympiacos permanently, with only the precise financial terms remaining undisclosed by the clubs.
