Harry Kane confirms Bayern contract talks will continue in coming weeks

Harry Kane has confirmed that talks over a new Bayern Munich contract are set to continue in the coming weeks, with the England captain making clear that he is in no rush to resolve his long-term future.

Kane’s current deal runs until 2027, but Bayern have already opened discussions aimed at extending his stay beyond the end of next season.

Speaking after Bayern’s Supercup victory over Borussia Dortmund, Kane said there was no urgency around the negotiations and stressed that his focus remains on the start of the new campaign.

“I’m not in a hurry,” Kane said, adding that further discussions would take place over the coming weeks.

The 33-year-old has repeatedly indicated that he is settled in Munich and comfortable with both the sporting environment and life away from the pitch.

That stance has reduced speculation over an immediate return to the Premier League, despite Kane remaining within reach of Alan Shearer’s all-time scoring record in England.

Bayern’s position is similarly clear. The club view Kane as a central figure in their short- and medium-term plans and have already begun working toward an extension rather than allowing his contract to enter its final year without clarity.

Kane has continued to deliver at an elite level since leaving Tottenham in 2023, combining prolific scoring with the major team honours that had previously eluded him.

No agreement has yet been signed, but the tone from both player and club suggests that negotiations are progressing in a positive direction.
