Genoa have reached an agreement with Hull City to sign Cody Drameh on a permanent transfer, with the right-back travelling to Italy on deadline day to complete the move.

Fabrizio Romano reports that a verbal agreement has been reached at €4.5 million and that Hull have given the transfer the green light. BBC Sport has separately reported that the deal is agreed, putting the fee at £3.4 million and confirming that Drameh is heading to Italy.

Neither club has formally announced the transfer, meaning the 24-year-old still has to complete the remaining medical and registration procedures before the move becomes official.

Drameh is set to replace Brooke Norton-Cuffy at Genoa after the Serie A club agreed to sell the former Arsenal defender to Hull. The two transfers have developed in parallel on deadline day, effectively reshaping the right-back position at both clubs.

Drameh joined Hull from Leeds United in July 2024 on a three-year contract after leaving Elland Road. He became a regular at the MKM Stadium and was among the players who helped Hull secure promotion to the Premier League through the Championship play-offs last season.

He has featured in all three of Hull’s matches at the start of the current campaign, making his departure a significant late-window change for the promoted side.

The former Fulham academy player previously gained Championship experience through loan spells with Cardiff City, Luton Town and Birmingham City. His spell at Luton included their promotion to the Premier League in 2023.

For Genoa, the deal provides an immediate replacement for Norton-Cuffy with a player accustomed to English senior football and still entering his prime years.

The transfer is advanced but not yet official: Hull have approved Drameh’s departure, the clubs have reached an agreement and the defender is travelling to Italy, with the final formalities still to be completed.
