Fulham agree deal to sign Manuel Ángel from Real Madrid

Fulham have reached an agreement with Real Madrid to sign Manuel Ángel on a permanent transfer, with the midfielder undergoing medical checks in London on deadline day.

Standard Sport reports that the clubs have agreed a deal for the 22-year-old, while reporting from The Athletic and Fabrizio Romano indicates that Real Madrid will retain significant future rights as part of the transfer.

The reported structure includes a 50 per cent sell-on interest for Real Madrid as well as a matching right, allowing the Spanish club to retain a degree of control over any future move. No reliable transfer fee has yet emerged.

Neither Fulham nor Real Madrid have formally announced the deal, so the move remains subject to the completion of the medical and final contractual and registration procedures.

Manuel Ángel has spent his senior development years with Real Madrid Castilla after joining the club’s academy from Sevilla in 2018. The central midfielder progressed through the youth system and became a prominent figure for Castilla before receiving opportunities with the first team.

A move to Craven Cottage would reunite him with Álvaro Arbeloa, who previously coached him in Real Madrid’s academy and Castilla setup before taking charge of Fulham this summer.

Fulham have already recruited other players developed at Real Madrid during the window, including Gonzalo García and César Palacios, making Manuel Ángel another addition familiar with Arbeloa’s methods.

The deal is now at an advanced stage rather than complete. Fulham and Real Madrid have reportedly reached an agreement and Manuel Ángel is undergoing his medical in London, but official confirmation and the final financial details are still awaited.
