Gudmundsson pushes for Lazio as Nottingham Forest prepare new Dodô offer

Fiorentina are facing pressure on two separate outgoing fronts, with Albert Gudmundsson pushing towards Lazio while Nottingham Forest prepare a renewed attempt for Dodô.

The two situations are at different stages and should not be treated as one combined operation. Gudmundsson has prioritised a move to Lazio, according to Alfredo Pedullà, with the Rome club discussing a paid loan with an option to buy. Dodô, meanwhile, remains the subject of Premier League interest, but Nottingham Forest’s next move is still expected rather than agreed.

Lazio’s pursuit of Gudmundsson is the more developed of the two. The Iceland international has fallen outside Fiorentina’s central plans and is open to the move, giving Lazio a route to add a creative forward before the deadline without committing immediately to a full permanent transfer.

The structure remains important. A loan with an option to buy would allow Lazio to manage the short-term cost while giving Fiorentina a potential exit for a player who is no longer considered essential. There is no official agreement yet, but the direction of the player’s preference has strengthened Lazio’s position.

The Dodô case is less advanced. Nottingham Forest have already had an offer rejected by Fiorentina and are preparing to return with a new proposal, but the Brazilian full-back has not pushed in the same way as Gudmundsson. Pedullà reports that Dodô is currently inclined to remain in Florence for the final year of his contract.

That creates a different negotiation dynamic. Fiorentina may be willing to listen because Dodô’s contract situation limits their long-term leverage, but Forest still need both an acceptable offer to the club and a change in the player’s position before the transfer can accelerate.

For Fiorentina, the wider issue is squad management in the final days of the window. The club have already moved to add Alieu Njie from Torino, but the possible exits of Gudmundsson and Dodô would reshape two different parts of the team: one in attack, the other at right-back.

The next developments will determine whether this becomes a double exit story or only a Lazio-led move for Gudmundsson. For now, Gudmundsson is the player pushing hardest towards a transfer, while Dodô remains a target for Nottingham Forest rather than a player close to leaving.
