Fiorentina push for Alieu Njie as Wilfried Gnonto interest emerges
Fiorentina are in advanced talks for Torino winger Alieu Njie while also sounding out Leeds United over Wilfried Gnonto, although the two potential deals remain at very different stages.

Fiorentina are pushing to complete a deal for Torino winger Alieu Njie while also exploring the possibility of bringing Wilfried Gnonto back to Serie A from Leeds United before the transfer window closes.
Talks for Njie are the more advanced of the two operations.
According to Sportitalia, Fiorentina are negotiating a package worth around €15million plus add-ons for the 21-year-old, with discussions now focused on the final details of a potential agreement with Torino.
Njie has attracted interest from elsewhere this summer, including Crystal Palace and Salzburg, but Fiorentina have moved into a strong position as they continue to reshape Fabio Grosso’s attacking options.
The situation around Gnonto is considerably less developed.
The Athletic reports that Fiorentina have contacted Leeds to ask about the availability of the Italy international, but no agreement is close and the Premier League club would only consider allowing the 22-year-old to leave if they first secure another attacking player.
Leeds sources have indicated there is only a small possibility of a deal progressing at this stage, with the limited time remaining in the window complicating any potential exit.
That distinction is important.
Njie represents an active negotiation approaching a decisive phase, while Gnonto is currently one of several attacking options Fiorentina are assessing rather than a transfer moving towards completion.
The Viola have already made significant changes to their squad this summer and are still looking to add width before the deadline. Njie fits that requirement directly, while Gnonto would offer a different profile: an Italy international capable of operating across multiple attacking roles and still only 22.
For Fiorentina, the immediate priority is therefore the Torino deal.
If an agreement for Njie can be finalised, the club would add one of their primary wide targets. Any move for Gnonto is more conditional and would depend not only on Fiorentina advancing their interest but also on Leeds finding a replacement and deciding they are prepared to sanction his departure.
With the window now entering its final days, those timelines could become decisive.
