Como reach agreement for Samuele Ricci as Milan sanction loan-to-buy exit

Como have reached an agreement to sign Samuele Ricci from AC Milan on an initial loan with an option to buy, bringing the midfielder’s San Siro spell close to an end after just one season.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the deal is structured around a €1.5 million loan fee with an option to make the move permanent for €22 million. Additional bonuses are linked to Como’s final league position, while the remaining formalities are now being completed.

The move represents a significant shift for Ricci, who joined Milan only last summer but is now set to leave after a single campaign. He made 34 appearances in all competitions last season, scoring once, but has not secured a sufficiently central role to prevent Milan from sanctioning an exit.

Football Italia has also reported that the clubs are finalising the final details, while Gianluca Di Marzio has described the agreement as a loan with an option to buy rather than an obligation.

For Como, the deal would add another technically secure midfielder to a squad that continues to build with greater ambition in Serie A. Ricci’s ability to receive under pressure, dictate tempo and progress possession from deeper areas gives the club a profile that can immediately strengthen the structure of the midfield.

From Milan’s perspective, the agreement provides flexibility. The club can move Ricci out of the immediate first-team picture while retaining the possibility of a substantial permanent fee if Como choose to exercise the option.

The timing is notable. Ricci’s move comes only a year after Milan invested in bringing him to the club, making the transfer less a long-planned departure than a rapid change in squad direction.

With the financial framework now agreed, the deal is no longer at the exploratory stage. The remaining steps are administrative and contractual, with official confirmation expected once the final documents are completed.
