Andoni Gorosabel facing Athletic Club exit as Osasuna monitor situation

Andoni Gorosabel could leave Athletic Club before the end of the summer transfer window as the defender searches for a clearer route to regular first-team football.

Gorosabel has returned to training following an adductor injury earlier in the summer, but his recovery has not significantly changed his position within the squad.

The 30-year-old faces strong competition on the right side of defence, where Athletic have other options ahead of him in the current hierarchy. That situation has made a departure increasingly realistic despite Gorosabel remaining under contract until 2028.

A move could offer him the regular minutes that may be difficult to secure if he stays in Bilbao.

Osasuna’s interest provides one possible route, particularly as the Pamplona club assess their own options at right-back. However, their position appears to remain exploratory rather than a formal attempt to complete a transfer.
