AEK move close to Kervin Arriaga deal with Levante

Kervin Arriaga is moving closer to leaving Levante for AEK Athens after the Greek club made a decisive push to complete a deal for the Honduras international.

Cadena SER reports that AEK have submitted an offer worth €4.5 million plus performance-related bonuses that could take the package to around €5 million, with Levante also retaining a small percentage of any future sale. Arriaga is expected to sign a four-year contract if the transfer is completed.

The negotiations have advanced quickly, with AS reporting that an agreement between the clubs is now close and that Arriaga is expected to travel to Greece as the final details are resolved. He was also left out of Levante’s squad for Sunday’s La Liga fixture against Espanyol, a further indication that his departure is approaching.

Arriaga joined Levante permanently from Partizan Belgrade last summer after previously spending time in Spanish football with Real Zaragoza. Levante confirmed at the time that the midfielder had signed a contract running until June 2028.

The 28-year-old became an important option during Levante’s most recent campaign, particularly during the second half of the season, but his potential sale would also provide the club with additional financial flexibility in the closing stages of the transfer window.

According to Cadena SER, the proceeds could help Levante complete the registration of several summer additions while creating further room for recruitment.

AEK have yet to announce Arriaga as a new signing, while Levante have not formally confirmed his departure. The transfer should therefore still be treated as being at an advanced stage rather than complete.

However, with a substantial offer reported, contractual terms outlined and Arriaga already absent from Levante’s latest matchday squad, the move appears to be approaching its final stages.
